Up gradation of Windows operating system to its upgraded version allows to use the additional benefits added into the upgraded version. A STOP error message after up gradation process occurs on a system that does not use an Intel processor. Two hazards that you encounter on a STOP error message occurrence are – uncountable hard drive and data inaccessibility. To overcome both of the above hazards, you will need to restore data from an updated backup. However, if no backup is available or backup falls short of restoring the required data, then you will need to use a powerful Partition Recovery Software to recover you lost files and folders.

Consider a practical example, where you upgrade your system (that does not use an Intel processor) to Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or to Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3). After the up gradation process is complete and you restart your system, you encounter the below error message:

“A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer…
Technical information:
STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xFC5CCAF1, 0xFC90F8C0, 0xFC90F5C1) SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED”

The four parameters in the above error message differ due to system’s configuration.

The above STOP error message makes the data saved in the hard drive inaccessible. Moreover, the same error message reappears each time you attempt to start your computer system.

Cause:

The above STOP error message primarily occurs when a Sysprep (System Preparation) image is deployed from a system that does not use an Intel processor from a system that uses Intel processor.

Resolution:

For comprehensive solution of the above error message, you will need to make some changes in the computer’s registry. To do so, you will need to take the below steps:

Firstly, you will need to restart your system in safe mode

Click Start, Run, type regedit, and then click OK to open the Registry Editor window.

Search and then click on the below registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMControlSet001ServicesIntelppm

Right-click the Start entry on the right-pane, and then click on Modify

Type 4 in the Value data box, and then click OK.

Lastly, exit Registry Editor and restart your system.

However, if you encounter the same error message even when you restart your system, then you will need to use advanced partition recovery software to recover your data. Such file recovery utilities employ effective scanning methods to completely scan and recover data from a storage device.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is powerful file recovery application. It ensures absolute recovery of data from corrupted, deleted, formatted or lost hard drive partitions. The non destructive utility supports185 varied file types. It is compatible with FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems. The tool is designed for Windows 7 (Currently in RC1), Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000.

Being a computer technician pays nice money and has for a very long time. Why?well, mainly becuase alot of new computer owners fail to learn how to use and maintain there new computer. Before purchasing my first computer back in 1998, I took an 8 hour class on the basics of operating a windows 95 system based computer. Even with the class, within the first few months, I had crashed the computer 3 times. This gives you somewhat of an idea about what we have here today. Alot of people now are getting computers becuase there friends have one, or to just get into the chat rooms, or the adult sites. point being. they dont know how to use a computer, much less maintain one.

To save yourself alot of money and unneedless trips to the computer shop for repairs, there are a series of very simple steps you can take to keep your new computer running fast and efficient. Myself, I have windows xp home edition running on my computer. I find it to be the best system out there at the moment. The choice is of course yours as to what operating system you install on your machine. When you get your new computer home and you configure an internet connection, the first thing I recommend that you do is to get to the windows update site. The site will automatically update your new operating system with files to prevent people on other computers from accessing your data. Next step is to install an anti-virus and spyware program on your computer.

If your buying a new computer from a big outlet, this is usually included with your purchase but not always. Make sure to inquire about this when purchasing your computer. Both these programs, the anti-virus and the anti-spyware are a must have in todays computer age. You can get good information from google. Just type in anti-virus in the search box. you will get choices for alot of programs. same for the anti-spyware.

Over time, you will visit alot of websites. Most of these sites has what are called “cookies.” These are little embedded packages of data(files), that the sites you have visited leave on your computer to track your browsing habits. After awhile, these files need to be purged, deleted from your computer.

Other files that need to be purged at least once a week, are your temporary internet files and your history files. Failing to do this will really slow down your computer to a crawl and possibly cause a system crash, meaning you will have to re-install your operating system.

When you open up internet explorer, at the top left of the page, you will see options. Look for the Tools option. Left click “Tools”, then left click “Internet Options.” From there it should be straight foward for you. After you have deleted your temporary internet files and history files, click “OK” I do this at least once a day, really keeps my computer running fast.

Within all windows operating systems, there is a system tool that you should use once a month to keep your computer running smoothly. During normal usage, the files on your computer become fragmented. Meaning, bits of files are scattered to different parts of your hard drive making it more difficult and time consuming for your computer to locate. If you click start, accessories, system tools, you will find disk defragmentor. Run the program. You will find if you have not done this in a long time, will make a big difference in the overall performance of your computer.

Now im going to share with you, some things you can do about whats inside of your computer “the case” or your computers “hardware.” No matter how clean the surroundings where you have your computer placed, over time, alot of dust and particles gather on the inside. your motherboard, inside the power supply, on your cpu, all your cards “video, sound, etc.” I clean the inside of my computer every 3 months and I recommend all new users do it also.

Here is how to do it: First, before you do anything, make sure the computer is unplugged from the outlet and is completely turned off! Next is to get a screwdriver for those little round screws you will need to undo to get inside your case. When both sides of the case are removed, you will need a can of compressed air. you can buy this from any computer store for under 5 dollars. You then spray all the areas inside the case. you will see the dust and dirt flyng off from the places you sprayed. Doing this 4 times a year(every 3 months)Is a great way to save alot of money and keep your computer running like its brand new.

On a Windows installed computer, you can install Linux as the second operating system. To proceed Linux installation, you need to create /boot partition using free space available on the hard disk or by shrinking the existing Windows partition. You are not recommended to abort the Linux installation while the Setup is creating space for /boot partition. Doing so might render the Windows partition inaccessible. Your data might get lost and thus, to restore the data, you will need to use your current data backup. If it is not feasible as data backup is damaged or incomplete, you need to use an efficient Windows Partition Recovery application.

To illustrate it, consider the below scenario:

You use a Windows installed computer system with two partitions, boot partition and a data partition

You run Linux Setup to install the operating system on free space of the hard drive

You abort the installation operation while it was creating the /boot partition

You restart the computer and find that the data partition is inaccessible

The data partition is accessible but when you use any utility that accesses partitions’ information, it reports incorrect information about hard drive partitions

Cause

You have partially or completely corrupted the MBR partition table by aborting Linux installation process. An interrupted installation might introduce errors in hard disk partition table.

Solution

To solve the existing issue, you might consider the following recommendations:

You can delete and recreate the damaged partition provided you have a valid data backup available

If you do not have any clean backup that could be used to restore the lost information, you need to use a third-party utility Partition Recovery

Windows Partition Recovery tools are suitable applications that could restore lost data from a corrupted, damaged, lost or formatted hard disk partition. These software are embedded with advanced options and safe, yet powerful, scanning algorithms that could locate the missing data and restore it at a safe location. Such utilities serve as comprehensive recovery products to recover logically crashed Windows partitions.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is a fully-competent to recover and restore Windows partitions for Windows 7 RC1, Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000 based systems. It is a non-destructive program to Recover Windows Partition. The tool provides you advanced options, such as RAW File Recovery, Drive Status, Disk Imaging and more. It supports FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems.

The windows operating system software started off being fairly quick but other operating systems suffered the same fate being slow compared to when they were first developed. The vast majority of people especially those who have not been involved in the technical area of computers grew up with the likes of the windows operating system software or Mac operating system. They have not known the time when computers seemed to be lightning fast yet were only a fraction of the power of today’s PC’s.

Let me give you a bit of history. Computers in the past were programmed in what were called low level computer languages, assembler and even machine language that made the programs much more efficient. But as the years went by calls for more functionality and languages that were easier to write programs.

Then came the higher-level language compilers like Cobol, Fortran and a sudden splurge in a many others. Although these were still reasonable efficient, the fight began for compiler companies to produce more efficient ones to combat the need for that increasingly extra functionality being asked for that were slowing the computers down.

Getting back to why the “windows operating system software” seems so slow. The first release of “Windows” seemed to be pretty fast and was so (compared today’s PC’s) working on pretty low powered computers. As Windows matured and users upgraded to new versions of the windows operating system software they found that their PC’s were running slower and slower. They also found that they needed to use more and more space on their hard disks for the new operating systems.

The slowness of the windows operating system software was partially offset by buying a more powerful PC and a bigger hard disk. Buying more disk space and memory became mandatory in some cases because the new operating system could not even be installed on the old PC. There even came a time when programs users had bought would no longer run under the newer versions of windows. Talk about double whammies. It would almost appear that OS suppliers and hardware suppliers where in cahoots with each other to keep the money rolling in.

Some operating systems are more efficient than others the most efficient being “Unix” the next is “Linux” probably followed by Mac and last being the windows operating system software.

You may find that if you have “hosting” and check what your host provider is running your hosting account on, you will invariably find that it is running the “Unix” or “Linux” operating system. You will find some that are using the windows operating system software. Personally if I find this is the case I will not go anywhere near that hosting company.

Unfortunately higher-powered PC’s also makes us slack. You start off with your windows operating systems software running at a fairly fast pace but as time goes on it runs slower and slower. This is the case with any operating system no matter how efficient it is. The windows operating system software is like your car it needs maintaining periodically. If you did not maintain your car it’s performance would gradually decrease and the number of breakdowns would occur more and more often. That is why you need to do some maintenance your self and have some done by specialists. With a car you check the oil, tire pressures and other small tasks but you send your car off to the service center for the more difficult things.

With your windows operating system software you clean up your hard drive, get rid of programs you don’t use and a variety of other things. Fortunately with your PC you can do most of the maintenance yourself. If you do this you will find even though your operating system gets slower and slower you can slow down the effects a lot with periodic maintenance.
